Calling all young creatives! All Our Babies: Birthing in the Afrofuture invites students across Northeast Ohio to submit original artwork for our Student Poster Contest, inspired by Afrofuturism and the future of Black maternal health.
Through this project, students will explore the realities of today and imagine a future where Black mothers, families, and communities are honored, protected, and empowered.

Students will use Afrofuturism as a lens to create artwork that explores and envisions:

Artwork Guidelines
Size:

Maximum size is 3 feet by 3 feet (36” x 36”)
Mediums Accepted:

Traditional: Drawing, painting (acrylic, watercolor, oil), pastels, charcoal, mixed media

Digital: Digital illustration, graphic design, digital photography

3D Art: Sculpture or mixed-media installations

Photography: Original artistic photography

All work must be created by the student. No copyrighted material or plagiarism will be accepted.

We seek bold, visionary work that merges Afrofuturistic aesthetics with themes of Black maternal health, empowerment, and wellbeing.
Your art should challenge traditional representations and offer new perspectives on motherhood, healing, and maternal health in the Black community.
We want pieces that spark conversations, educate, and inspire vision-building for the next generation of Black families.

All student participants will be honored for their creativity and contribution. Selected entries will receive:
